A native Texan, I spent most of my growing up years near Austin. My love of artistic expression led me to Nashville for college to study music at Belmont University. It was during this time that my interest in visual art grew and I began exploring photography as a way of capturing light and color, shadow and reflection, the little things that caught my eye and breath- the beauty all around me.

 

After completing college I lived for five years in Washington D.C., working with children during the day and my jazz band in the evenings. In 2012 I moved back home to Texas, spending three years in a remote town on the Texas/Mexico border before returning to the city life in Houston. 

 

Becoming a mother to an exuberant and wildly creative child of my own deepened my desire to capture images of joy around me and led to the establishment of Ashley Griffin Creations in 2017. My family is now settled into beautiful New Braunfels, where we plan to stay for the long haul.
